Head of Service Development, Development & Regeneration Services, Glasgow City Council
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1992 and have undertaken a variety of roles within Local Government since 1994, having worked in Glasgow City Council since 1996 across a number of departments. These have included accountant, process owner, business process consultant and Head of Service roles. I have a vast experience in managing large change programmes, LEAN methodologies, organisational development and contributing to the continuous improvement agenda through leading strategic delivery of service reform and more recently performing a key role within the Transformation Programme for Glasgow.
I have successfully delivered a range of projects contributing to Glasgow’s financial challenges over the years including implementation of different working patterns within frontline operations, maximising funding opportunities and more recently data analytics pilots. These pilots have informed an approach within the Council to create an Intelligent Business Programme, led by myself, to develop an evidence-based data-driven culture to deliver positive outcomes for citizens, at a reduced cost.
